High-alumina low-cement refractory castable is a kind of cement-bonded irregular refractory material made of high-quality bauxite as raw material, which has lower cement dosage and higher refractoriness. Compared with ordinary cement-bonded refractory castables, the calcium aluminate cement content of high-alumina low-cement castables is only 1/2 to 1/3 of that of ordinary refractory castables.
Low-cement castables usually use calcium aluminate cement as the binder, and castables with a calcium oxide content of less than 2.5% are usually called low-cement castables.
Low cement content
The amount of cement used in low cement high alumina castables is only 1/4-1/3 of that used in conventional refractory castables.
High refractoriness and slag resistance
High alumina low cement refractory castables with low calcium oxide content can reduce the low eutectic phase generated in the material, thus improving the refractoriness, high temperature strength and slag resistance.
High densification
The low cement content reduces the porosity of the castables and improves the compactness, thus enhancing the compressive and flexural strength of the material.
Good thermal stability
High-alumina low-cement castables have a low coefficient of thermal expansion, which enables them to maintain stable size and structure under high-temperature environment.
Gradual increase in strength after molding
After molding and curing, the castables produce less cement hydrate in pure form, and will gradually sinter with the increase of heat treatment temperature, and the strength will gradually increase.

High-alumina low cement castables can be used for masonry and maintenance of high-temperature furnaces such as iron and steel furnaces, iron smelting furnaces, converters, electric furnaces, steel-making furnaces and so on.
