Refractories for glass kilns

Refractory bricks for glass kilns, insulation materials, amorphous refractory materials, refractory industry solutions for glass kilns

Refractories for glass kiln tops

Glass kilns are used for the production of glass products and require the use of special refractory materials to withstand the high temperature conditions and chemical attack during the glass melting process.

Dentil roof

The tops of the kilns (including the arches) in the melting and cooling sections of the kiln are exposed to operating temperatures of 1600 degrees Celsius, and the refractory materials used in these areas must be able to withstand the high temperatures and loads, as well as the scouring effects of alkali vapors and compatibilizing materials.

Used as the top of the refractory material is usually high-purity silica bricks, because high-purity silica bricks have a very high refractoriness, high load softening temperature and good creep resistance, and the thermal conductivity is small, high-temperature refractories can not be contaminated with the glass liquid, the material's capacity to be smaller, high-temperature strength and other characteristics.

Refractories for glass kiln wall

Pool wall

Parts in contact with glass liquid

Melting and cooling part of the pool wall and glass liquid direct contact with the part, subject to high temperature, glass liquid caused by chemical erosion and flow of mechanical physical scouring caused by this part of the refractory material is the main condition is a good resistance to glass liquid erosion performance, at the same time can not be contaminated with glass liquid.

The parts in contact with the glass liquid generally use fused zirconia corundum brick and α-β corundum brick, β corundum brick masonry. Electrofused zirconium corundum brick has excellent high temperature and anti-glass liquid performance, which is that it obtains the co-crystal of plagioclase zirconia and α-AI203 with very good erosion resistance that is impossible to obtain from sintered refractory materials, so it is very suitable as a wall brick of the pool of the melting part of the glass kiln furnace.

Parts not in direct contact with the glass liquid

The part of the wall of the melting section and the cooling section which is not in direct contact with the glass liquid (also called the breast wall), this area is mainly subject to the scouring effect of alkali steam and compound, according to the different designs, some use corundum material, some use silica bricks, and these 2 kinds of materials can meet the requirements. Therefore hook bricks and straight bricks are often used in this area.

Refractories for heat storage room

Heat storage room and side wall

Heat storage room warm and side wall of the inner surface of the high temperature, dust, alkali steam erosion, from top to bottom, the degree of erosion gradually weakened, the selection of refractory materials according to the top of the glass kiln heat storage room, side wall, in the lower section of the temperature and the degree of erosion of the different to determine.
The top and side walls are generally recommended silica bricks and high-quality silica bricks, the side walls are generally recommended to use low porosity clay bricks and high alumina bricks; kiln lower general selection of general clay bricks and low porosity clay bricks.
According to the different design, in recent years, the side wall in the upper part of the general use of ordinary magnesium-chromium bricks and direct combination of magnesium-chromium bricks, magnesium-aluminum bricks and other alkaline bricks have also gained a better use of the results.

magnesia alumina spinel bricks

Refractories for lattice body

Lattice body because all the bricks are in high temperature loading, dust and alkali vapor, the degree of erosion will be more serious than Winston and side wall.

In the top of the lattice body

The highest temperature, can reach 1400-1540 ℃, by the alkali steam and dust erosion is also the most serious, generally use electrofusion re-bonded magnesium bricks.

Lattice body upper

The temperature can be up to 1100-1430 ℃, generally use 95 # recombination of magnesium bricks.

Lattice body in the middle

The temperature is 800-1100 ℃, generally use magnesium-aluminum spinel bricks or directly combined with magnesium-chromium bricks or magnesium-zirconium bricks and magnesium-olivine bricks.

Lattice body lower

This section of the operating temperature is low, load, by alkali erosion is small, but from the flue is relatively close, directly affected by the cold air, the need for materials should be able to withstand the rapid cold and heat. Generally use the lower price of low porosity clay brick.
