What Are the Unshaped Refractory Materials Used in Hot Blast Stoves?

Unshaped refractory materials for hot blast stoves are mainly divided into the following types.

refractory mortar

A large number of silica bricks are used in the high-temperature parts of the hot blast stove, and silica refractory slurry is required to build the silica bricks. Silica refractory mortar uses silica powder as the main material, and the binding agent can be soft clay or chemical binding agent.

Refractory castables

When building the lining of the hot blast stove, some castables are also used , such as clay castables at the bottom of the hot blast stove, and andalusite castables between the outer wall of the ceramic burner and the combustion chamber wall.

Spray paint

Refractory spray coatings are very commonly used in hot blast furnaces. Different types of refractory spray coatings can be used in the combustion chamber, regenerator, mixing chamber and the inner walls of various hot blast ducts. They are used to maintain heat and improve the performance of the furnace body.

Thermal insulation materials

Insulating materials refer to materials with high porosity, low density and low thermal conductivity. The insulation materials used in hot blast furnaces include insulating bricks, ceramic fiber felt, polystyrene boards, etc.
