High alumina abrasive castable is used in the power generation industry to line the interiors of boilers and other high temperature equipment. It protects against abrasion caused by coal, ash and other combustion by-products.
High Alumina Abrasive Castable is a monolithic refractory specially designed for high temperature environments with excellent high temperature resistance and good mechanical strength.Fireramo’s High Alumina Abrasive Castable is made of high purity SiC as the main ingredient with the addition of Silicon Dioxide and Aluminium Oxide as well as other auxiliary ingredients in the range of 4-5 wt% to ensure the refractory properties and chemical stability of the material.
High temperature resistance: High-alumina abrasive castables can be used up to a maximum temperature of 1590°C, making them suitable for use in industrial equipment and furnace linings in extremely high-temperature environments.
High strength and abrasion resistance: the modulus of rupture of high alumina abrasive castables after sintering at 1000°C is more than 15MPa, and the cold compression strength under dry state is more than 13MPa, which ensures the structural stability of the material under high temperature working conditions.
Excellent particle distribution: the particle size of high alumina abrasive castables is controlled at +355µm accounting for more than 40wt%, and -250µm below accounting for no more than 50wt%, which ensures that the castables have good fluidity and fillability.
Low shrinkage: the shrinkage of high alumina abrasive castables after 24 hours at 110°C is controlled within 1.5%, which reduces the risk of deformation of the material after high temperature treatment and improves the construction precision and service life.
Moderate water requirement: High alumina abrasive castables require only 6 wt% of water, which guarantees easy workability and reduces the risk of cracks caused by water evaporation.
High alumina abrasive castables are widely used in many industries such as iron and steel, metallurgy, chemical industry, electric power, ceramics, etc. Especially in the lining casting of rotary kilns, hot blast furnaces, vertical furnaces, aluminium smelting furnaces, glass melting kilns, and other high temperature equipments, they play a vital role.
