Mullite castable is a refractory castable made of high quality porous mullite aggregate, plus fine powder and additives. The critical particle size of mullite aggregate is 12mm; the long-term service temperature is 1350 degrees. Mullite castables can be used at high temperature, can be used in direct contact with the flame, realizing high temperature energy saving; unit weight is light, the weight of the structure is reduced by 40-60%, eliminating the hidden danger of broken bricks hanging from the roof of the furnace, with low thermal conductivity and good heat preservation; the furnace can be baked quickly, shortening the baking period.

In addition, mullite castables are also characterized by high early strength, and the compressive strength at room temperature can reach more than 30MPa. However, its disadvantage is that the volume stability at medium temperature is poor, and the strength reduction can be up to about 40%. Therefore, in the process of use should ensure that its room temperature compressive strength to meet the design and national standards.
Mullite castables are used in petrochemical industry tube heating furnace, light diesel oil, ethane cracker furnace lining, atmospheric decompression furnace, sulfur recovery device, steam boiler, tortoise shell mesh heat insulation layer, two ware cylinder and pipe heat insulation monolayer, other industrial furnace furnace door, fire lookout holes, observation holes door lining and so on. High-strength mullite castables can also be used in the kiln mouth in front of rotary kiln, high-temperature section of the downpipe, three air ducts, three air valves and other key parts.
